Explore Kupa`a Farm in Kula to learn multiple techniques for keeping insects, pests and birds away from your growing produce. From low tunnels to hoop houses, you will come away with options for outfoxing some of the most common pest problems while also improving plant growth. High and low tunnels are simple, inexpensive greenhouses that allow you to maintain favorable conditions for germination, sprouting and vegetation.
Class will be held off-site at Kupaa Farm in Kula on Sunday, March 10th, 2019 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Further information and directions will be sent to students after registration. Tuition is $69.00 and is required at the time of registration. Class code is AGR6600.

This class can be applied towards the Farm Apprentice Certificate, if you are part of the program. The Farm Apprentice Certificate of Professional Development (CPD) encompasses a six-month, 10-module curriculum consisting of 11 courses designed to provide the fundamentals of knowledge and practice through instruction and on-farm mentoring demonstrations to prepare a beginning farmer to operate a farm using regenerative agricultural practices.
