Planting Fruit Trees I & II

Have you dreamed of having an orchard with many fruit varieties in your backyard?

These two, 3-hour hands-on learning sessions will teach you the how-to’s of designing, planting and caring for a fruit tree orchard.  Both Planting Fruit Trees I & II will be held off-site at Pono Grown Farm in Makawao where students will enjoy informative applied learning.  The class will also get a tour of a developing orchard where the class will explore the step-by-step methods for caring for a variety of fruit trees..  There are separate registrations for each class; after the first class (I), continue learning two weeks later with the second class (II).

The first class, Planting Fruit Trees I will be held on Sunday, March 17th, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  Tuition is $69.

Planting Fruit Trees II, is on Sunday, March 31st, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Tuition for this class is also $69.

Directions will be provided after registration. Please wear closed toe shoes and bring a hat, sunscreen, rain gear, lunch and water.

This class can be applied towards the Farm Apprentice Certificate, if you are part of the program. The Farm Apprentice Certificate of Professional Development (CPD) encompasses a six-month, 10-module curriculum consisting of 11 courses designed to provide the fundamentals of knowledge and practice through instruction and on-farm mentoring demonstrations to prepare a beginning farmer to operate a farm using regenerative agricultural practices.
