SLIM Community Garden Grand Opening!

We are incredibly excited to announce the Grand Opening celebration of the SLIM Community Garden at UHMC!

The Sustainable Living Institute of Maui (SLIM) at UH Maui College is pleased to announce the Grand Opening of the SLIM UHMC Community Garden on May 2, 2013 from 4pm to 6pm.

Our partners–Ulupono Initiative, Community Work Day, Maui County Department of Water Supply, and the Water Institute for Sustainable Education (WISE)–many community sponsors, and hundreds of volunteers helped create garden beds, walkways, landscaping and a rain garden. Through this community effort, the garden has been transformed from bare soil and tree trunks to a living oasis of vegetables, herbs, and fruit.

The public is invited to attend the celebration. There will be fresh produce and drinks provided, tours of the gardens, and recognition of all of our sponsors and volunteers. For more information, call 984-3379.
