UHMC RH1 WATER/WASTE WATER PROGRAM SPECIALIST POSITION AVAILABLE

UHMC RH1 WATER/WASTE WATER PROGRAM SPECIALIST – ID# 13384.  University of Hawaii Maui College.  Regular, Full-time, RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the University of Hawaii Maui College, for the Rural Hawai’i (RH1) Project located in Kahului, Maui, Hawaii.  Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws.

Minimum Monthly Salary:  $3620/Mon.

DutiesIn collaboration with the RH1 Sustainability Program Coordinator, coordinates, manages, and directs all activities of the Water/Waste Water Project and works with project partners, faculty, staff, and private/public organizations to achieve all project outcomes.  Will be responsible to follow up on participant data collection and prepare US Department of Labor (USDOL) quarterly and annual reports.  Will engage with the evaluation team for implementation and outcome measures.  Develops, modifies, and coordinates curriculum for a Water/Waste Water certificate program for delivery on three (3) campuses; will work with the RH1 Instructional Design team on distance learning delivery, and will teach the Water/Waste Water certificate program.  Will lead the program to credit status certification and coordinate activities and course delivery to Kauai and Hawaii.

Primary Qualifications:  Education:  Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university. Experience:  Three to five (3-5) years of professional, relevant work experience in the water/waste water field, which should include project management and/or business management.  At least one (1) year teaching experience.  Abil/Know/Skills:  Knowledge of the principles and practices of water/waste water in sustainable resources management.  Ability to initiate, administer and coordinate a program, write curriculum and teach a water/waste water certificate program.  Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

SECONDARY QualificationsBoard Certified in Waste Water Treatment or professional work experience in a field related to sustainability such as agriculture, water, architecture, energy, mechanical engineering, and natural resource management.  Inquiries:  Deborah McNulty 984-3210 (Maui).
