The intermediate class will build upon the concepts introduced in the Introduction to Green Building and Energy Management Class and will provide the required project experience necessary for students to be able to sit for the exam to become a LEED Accredited Professional with specialty designation.
The class will kick off with an 8 hour, full day of in-class instruction. This will then be followed with weekly 2 hour on-line instructional sessions that will cover each of the credit categories in the LEED EBOM Rating System. In between class sessions, students will have group project assignments to complete on an actual building registered as a LEED EBOM project .Information gathered for each group assignment will be shared at the beginning of the next class prior to covering the next credit category. In this way, students will have access to real world, applied LEED project experience along with acquiring skills in training and presenting to others as well as being prepared to sit for the LEED AP exam. This class will be the first of its kind offered in the State of Hawaii!
