Kelly King Presentation on April 8th

Is Sustainable Biofuel Agriculture in Maui’s Future?

On April 8, the Sustainable Living Institute of Maui and Upcountry Sustainability present Kelly King, Vice President of Pacific Biodiesel Technologies, LLC. Kelly will speak on the potential of sustainable agriculture for biofuel on Maui. Biofuel agriculture demonstration projects are presently taking place on Oahu and Hawaii island. Is it time for Maui to join in?

Hundreds of Maui residents and fleet drivers already drive with locally made biodiesel, yet there is more diesel petroleum than can be displaced. Developing a sustainable clean fuel future for Maui will involve agriculture, and what better way to ensure the preservation of our open space, local jobs and safer fuel?

What do we know about Hawaii biofuel crop options and what do we still need to learn? Hear more about present projects on other islands, as well as possibilities for Maui. No registration is necessary, come early to ensure a seat.  Laulima Building, room 105, on the UHMC campus beginning at 5:30pm.  Call 984-3379 with questions.
