The Hawaii Clean Energy Initiative calls for dramatic increases in energy efficiency in upcoming years. Jump into the exciting, fast growing field of improved energy performance and residential energy audits. This class will provide participants with training in energy efficiency and building science and will prepare them to take the nationally recognized RESNET Home Energy Survey Professional test. Participants will gain hands on experience using state of the art building performance equipment and will leave with an understanding of appropriate technologies and strategies for improved energy performance in Hawaii. Topics include: building envelope features and performance, mechanical equipment types, renewable energy uses, appliance and lighting characteristics, etc. This course is appropriate for contractors, architects, inspectors, or anyone looking to pursue a career in an emerging industry in Hawaii.
