SLIM works with K-12 schools to develop sustainability curriculum and present information on sustainability. Our goal is to expose students to local job opportunities and emerging careers in sustainable agriculture and renewable energy careers with a focus on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) careers. SLIM works with local schools to enhance curriculum and co-curricular activities so that students are well-prepared to embark on their chosen career or job pathway. Students are introduced to a wide array of sustainability careers in Maui and the requisite educational and work experience required for the spectrum of jobs in these fields. It provides educational partnerships with instructors at UH Maui College and other schools to increase students’ access to the college and inspire their participation in post-secondary programs offered at UH Maui or other job training programs available on Maui.
