Entry Level Photovoltaic Design and Installation

This is a comprehensive training program that prepares students to take the entry-level NABCEP exam. It trains participants in the principles of small business and residential and/or commercial PV installation and design. Students learn the principles of energy and electrical systems, renewable energy generation, project and worksite safety, and PV system design and installation planning. It is ideal for people wanting to enter the solar energy industry. Certification: Preparation for Entry Level North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP).

Instructor Bio: Stuart Zinner is the Maui College Renewable Energy Coordinator and an instructor in the STEM department teaching classes in Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology, Information and Computer Science, and Mathematics, including classes in Photovoltaic Design and Installation, and Computer Networking. He has received training in Photovoltaic Design and Installation from Solar Energy International and is approved by NABCEP to offer PV classes.

Matias Bessaso is co-owner of Rising Sun Solar. He has been in the solar industry since 2003 and is a licensed electric contractor since 1998. He has certifications in NABCEP, SMA, Sharp and Fronius. He has taught PV classes for 4 years and collaborated on curriculum development.
