Intro to Hawaiian Ethnobotany

Ethnobotany: Field Workshops
Further your knowledge in ethnobotany through hands-on learning in off-site field trips on topics such as limu (sea algae) identification and cordage making. Saturdays, May 2 to May 23, 2020, 1:00-4:00pm

Planting Fruit Trees I
Have you dreamed of an orchard of many fruit varieties in your backyard? This 3-hour classroom session will give you the how-tos of designing, planting and caring for a fruit tree orchard. March 15, 2020, 9:00am – 12:00pm

Continue with an afternoon tour of a developing orchard to explore the step-by-step methods for caring for a variety of fruit trees at Pono Grown Farm. March 15, 2020, 1:00 – 4:00pm

Permaculture Design Certification
This international certification is the global standard for Permaculture Consultants & Designers consists of the required 72-hours of training plus additional hands-on activities. The course integrates regenerative agriculture practices including keyline design, holistic management for home gardeners, landscapers, farmers, ranchers, architects, land owners, teachers, and sustainable businesses. Saturdays, April 4, 2020 to May 3, 2020, 8:00am – 4:00pm

Sustainability Leadership for Organizations
Join a 2-day workshop designed for managers, engineers and aspiring leaders to learn how to apply sustainability principals in their organization to effect change. Acquire an understanding of the fundamentals of sustainability leadership for organizations and facilities using a system approach. Hawaiʻi’s Marine Naturalist
Tailored for tour boat crews, naturalists, and ocean enthusiasts this course offers an overview of some of Hawaiʻi’s most visible and oft-encountered protected marine life, their basic biological needs, distribution and how to assist in their protection. April 21 and 22, 9:00am – 4:00pm

Certified Interpretive Guide Training
The nationally recognized Certified Interpretive Guide (CIG) program is designed for anyone in the interpretive field. The course combines the theoretical foundations of the profession with practical strategies in delivering quality interpretive programming to visitors. RESCHEDULED FOR FALL 2020.
